What is Concierge Primary Care
Concierge primary care is a membership model where patients pay a monthly or quarterly fee for enhanced services, longer appointments, and a more personal relationship with their care team.
Concierge primary care is a healthcare model where patients pay a monthly or quarterly membership fee to a primary care provider in exchange for enhanced services and more personalized care. This model is sometimes referred to as boutique medicine.
What to Expect
- Membership fees: patients pay an annual or monthly fee to their primary care provider
- Enhanced services: patients typically receive longer appointment times, same-day or next-day appointments, after-hours access to their provider via phone, and coordination of specialist care if needed
- Personalized care: providers in concierge practices often have fewer patients, allowing them to spend more time with each one, give more personalized attention, and focus on preventive care
- Wellness services: most concierge practices offer additional wellness services such as weight loss, fitness consultations, and stress management programs
- Insurance coverage: patients still typically have health insurance for specialist care, hospitalizations, and other medical services outside of primary care, but the membership fee for concierge care is not covered by insurance. The majority of concierge providers do not accept health insurance and are cash-pay
Concierge primary care models aim to provide a more patient-centered approach to healthcare by fostering strong provider-patient relationships and emphasizing preventive care and wellness.
Do what you love and love what you do.
